Hello,
Using fresh RPI3 HA install, I configured the Aeon Zstick and the controller does scan and even found my old ZIGBee which I did configure 5-6 years ago which RPI 1 connected to zigbee <-> zigbee connected to LED cube.
Question: This might be dumb because I am not used to zwave but I was under impression that I could use the stick as a hub to connect to smart LED. I guess I must be wrong?
If then I need a hub and where does the Z-stick fit into this picture?
Any help would be great, its a pain to get any info on the smart LED.
The mode I got is
SYLVANIA General Lighting 73773 Full Color Lighting Kit Sylvania Smart+ ZigBee Flex XL Indoor Lightstrip
Or you could buy a zigbee stick and not have to use cloud based stuff.
I use the HUSBZB-1 stick which works for both zwave and zigbee (it has two separate radios) or you can use the Conbee (never used it myself) or zigbee2mqtt along with a TI zigbee stick (used it for playing around a bit but seems fairly popular).
Thanks, I just buy the ConbeeII since the zwave is covered by existing z-stick. It is around $38 (AMA) but of course more current drain on RPi because of 2 sticks.
I don’t think that’s much of a concern. I ran a zstick and the HUSBZB-1 stick with two radios in it for a year or more on a RPi 3b+ without any issues.
