My aeotec gen 5 stick is broken so I bought a new one the gen 7. I plugged in the gen 7 and hoped it worked out of the box. But it didn’t. Is there a way to migrate to the new gen 7 without the use of the old gen 5?
To migrate you need an NVM backup from the Gen 5 stick and the Gen 5 stick must be at firmware v 1.2 or higher. The entire network topology and config is stored on the stick.
Ok thnx them I’m to late. Never made this backup. I will start over again and make a backup afterwards
Just a hint from my side… it was a bad idea to buy a series 700 stick. Just in case that you have problems, like dead nodes, with your new stick …send it back and buy a series 500 stick. There are some unsolved issues with the 700/800 series.
I myself migrated back from a Razberry 7 pro to an Aeontec Gen 5+ after months of stress with dead nodes.
I’m on that stick also gen5+ never had an issue with dead nodes.
So far im not having issues with the 7 stick. I updated the firmware and it seems problems have gone away
