Been struggling getting distant nodes to work correctly and it seemed as though they were always trying to connect directly to my hub.
So I downloaded and ran ‘zensys-tools’ on my PC and ran the included ERTT test. Sure enough packets flew threw to every node any time they could talk directly to the controller. I was much ‘further’ than a line powered dimmer that is Z-Wave Plus and supports routing and beaming and the nodes I could never get to work right were talking no problem. This is true for all of my line powered devices.
To be clear, as I moved around I tried running a network heal multiple times and whatever node was one hop out now failed.
Basically it’s acting like a WiFi router or access point instead of meshing. I believe the controller figures out and stores the routing to make the mesh so what gives?
