I have had my Z-Wave HEM reporting for a couple of years until recently it stopped working and I have had to re-install it from scratch.
I am sure that I previously had Z-Wave JS UI running - and I was able to send the HEM a few configuration parameters to set it to report at specific intervals etc. The various entities for power, voltage and current etc. were presented as entities for setting up in HA.
Now I am struggling to set things up as before.
I have installed the add-on Z-Wave JS UI and this detects both my Aeotec Z-Wave stick (ZW090) and my HEM (ZW095) and all of the data cab be seen in the meter readings part of the Z-Wave JS control panel.
BUT - HA is notifying me that a new Z-Wave device has been detected (ttyACM0) and suggesting that I should configure it. When I try and follow this notification it adds the redundant Z-Wave JS add-on and disables Z-Wave JS UI.
I am unable to view any HA entities for power and current etc. even though I can see them in my Z-Wave JS UI control panel. The only Z-Wave device in my settings-devices-entities area is for Z-Wave JS UI and this has just a few entities for things such as CPU, Up-to-date etc.
What am I missing?
I am fairly sure I should NOT have Z-Wave JS add-on in addition to Z-Wave JS UI (?? logic check please).
If I remove Z-Wave JS UI and instead install Z-Wave JS, then all the power and current entities are visible but this is not a good solution as I need to use the UI version to send configuration parameters to the HEM
This was the mistake. JS and JsUI both control your stick. And you can’t use both at once. WHEN HA offered (its detection routine doesn’t know or care you were planning on using JsUI it just saw a ZWave stick) you should have selected ignore. You’ll need to disable the builtin ZWaveJS to get JsUI working again.
Thanks Nathan - I have removed the built in Z-WaveJS by choosing to ignore the notification.
I now only have Z-Wave JS UI showing in my add-ons list and there are no Z-Wave integrations showing at all.
I hope this is what you meant me to do?
I might have misinterpreted your advice and I should have installed the Z-Wave JS add-on as well as Z-Wave JS UI but then disabled Z-Wave JS (maybe there are some core components of Z-Wave JS that are used by Z-Wave JS UI and so it is needed but should be set as disabled??
Anyway - at present - as I mentioned, Z-Wave JS UI is installed and working BUT I have no entities available to be used within HA - I can only see the power levels etc. in the Z-Wave JS UI control panel.
Do you have the link for freshcoast’s guide to switch from JS to JsUI? (im on my phone and don’t have the link available)
Because that’s basically where you’re at right now. If you run through the guide step by step im sure you will find the missing configuration item (sounds like your disconnect is probably under the section where you setup the websocket connection back to HA)
