I can see the sensor in the Open ZWave control panel, but it shows up as:
Aeotec Unknown: type=0102, id=004a
Instead of as the G5, and there are no configuration options available so there is no way for me to change it from basic reporting to binary sensor. I see some of the sensors in HA but not the motion sensor.
Before I return this, can anyone suggest anything?
It looks like the Manufacturer Specific Data is missing for that particular sensor in manufacturer_specific.xml which is where Open ZWave picks up it’s information from.
Are you using an Aeotec Z-Stick? If so install their IMA Tool on a Windows PC to first ensure everything is working ok.
It is unlikely that there is anything wrong with the sensor.
Well in the IMA tool it is failing to read it but when I remove and reinstall the node it does that just fine.
While I see values in the sensor for things like luminance, they don’t seem to change at all. If I shine a desk lamp on the sensor and wait, even after refresh I see no change. But that could be because it doesn’t know what kind of sensor and therefore what commands are needed, right?
I think I’m just going to send this back and replace it with the new Mutlisensor 6; it seems to be better supported. I did see issues with the G5 in OpenZwave.
