I’m attempting to migrate out of a fairly extensive Indigo home automation setup to HA. I have HA up and running on a PI5 runnig HAOS 13.1, Core 2024.8.3
I’ve been able to get some of my local devices like Unifi UDMP, Sense and Flume to come in and have a good number of my Z-wave devices showing up in the HA Z-Wave JS integration, but have been utterly unable to find the “NVM backup” feature that is discussed here and on the Discord server. My end goal is to backup and then restore to a Z-wave 7, but the backup is the first step and I’m stuck.
If the NVM backup is within HA somewhere, can someone give me the menu steps or a screenshot. If it requires a standalone Node.js install, I can figure that out, just need to know that is what is required.
IMO, unless you already have one, I’d skip the Aeotec Z-Stick 7 and go with a Zooz or HomeSeer 800-series controller. Or if you can wait a few months, go with the Nabu Casa controller when it’s released.
Thanks for the pointers, the minimal downtime doc is a really nice walk-through of the steps. Unfortunately I mis-read step 9 and left the Z-Wave Supervisor add-on box checked the first time through, but was able to uninstall and re-install and it appears all is good. Thanks for the tip on the alternate controllers, Aeotec is not exactly what I think of as user-focused, the Nabu Casa looks promising.
