Hi everyone,
I bought Aeris Aair air purifier it seems it doesn’t have integration with home assistant. It has a WiFi connection and an app. It can connect to with Alexa however I couldn’t test that as I do t know any of the amazons speakers.
Was anyone able to connect it with home assistant? Maybe there is a hack to do it?
The manufacturers homepage is not really that informative, so I assume they do not have an API, and that means the app and device is probably directly connecting to the manufacturers cloud servers with an encrypted connection.
This means there is probably no way to control it in other ways than what the manufacturer have decided to provide.
The Alexa skill might be a workaround, but I have no idea how to set that up, because I avoid those cloud services.
For you and anyone else that’s a Aeris Aair Customer, I would suggest asking the mfgr to look into the works with home assistant program to see if their API would be compatible with HA.
The more of their customers that request this, the more likely it would happen.
The other way is to get someone to write something which 99% of the time is someone with the hardware or a desire to use the software and has the chops to write a custom Integration. If someone so chooses this can also be a core integration but that takes more work and commitment, There are thousands of core integrations, so it happens, but there are probably more custom ones than that because the entry bar is lower.
Thanks, appreciate the follow-up. I don’t have my Aeris account details anymore and I am reluctant to sign up again, since they want too much personal information.
