To use Tater with home assistant you only need to set it as the conversation agent
Now this app is called Tater only because I call my assistant Tater, but you can rename your assistant to whatever you want and give it a personality

Here is a brief overview of the plugins available that you can enable/disable to your liking:
broadcast
Sends a whole-house spoken announcement using Home Assistant TTS providers such as Piper or cloud voices.
comfyui_audio_ace
Composes full-length songs using AceStep, generating lyrics, tags, and MP3 audio that can be triggered from Home Assistant.
events_query
Summarizes stored events by time range, area, or activity, making it useful for dashboards and voice queries in Home Assistant.
find_my_phone
Rings your phone using the Home Assistant Companion App notification service.
ha_control
Controls Home Assistant devices such as lights, switches, scenes, and climate entities using natural language.
mister_remote
Controls a MiSTer FPGA system through the MiSTer Remote API, including launching cores and managing sessions.
overseerr_request
Adds a movie or TV show request to Overseerr directly from Home Assistant voice or automation calls.
voicepe_remote_timer
Starts, checks, and cancels a device-local timer on a Voice PE device using ESPHome sensors and buttons. NOTE this plugins requires this config that exposes the voice pe timer
web_search
Performs web searches and returns summarized results that can be used in Home Assistant voice responses or automations.

Automation Plugins
camera_event
Captures a camera snapshot when motion is detected, describes the scene using Vision AI, and logs a structured event with cooldown protection.
This is used later with the events_query plug to ask things like “was anyone wearing a red shirt in the front yard today”
doorbell_alert
Handles doorbell triggers by capturing a snapshot, generating a Vision AI description, speaking an announcement on voice pe, and logging the event.
events_query_brief
Returns a very short, sensor-safe summary of recent household events, grouped by area and timeframe.
phone_events_alert
Captures a camera snapshot on a trigger, describes what’s happening with Vision AI, and sends a high-priority phone notification with cooldown control.
weather_query_brief
Reads Home Assistant weather sensors and returns a concise, dashboard-safe weather summary.
zen_greeting
Generates a calm, AI-written Zen-style message of the day for Home Assistant dashboards and daily automations.
Tater also has a built in notification api, this is simular to Alexa devices, the light on the voice pe will light up when there is a notification and you can ask, what is the notification.
