AirTag "integration" (user friendly + device tracker)

Yeah, I saw your post about that and it definitely worked for me. The test I did in the template editor shows that to test True as well. It is interesting to me that the template won’t test to true when address == “Home” when the template shows that {{address}} is indeed “Home”.

yeah its really weird, only thing i can think of is that there are some non readable characters in there that are messing it up. Really strange indeed.

Hello,
I‘m also struggling with this… I didn’t write „home“ because in my settings from the AirTag I didn’t see it.

Any advice to fix it?

I think the way you have this written, it is going to completely skip the first if action and go to else. In that case, it will try to find the address that is showing on your FindMy for that device. Does your FindMy show an address?

Hi there,
is it possible to use the airtag ad room presence somehow? Or only gps?

No, It is not possible as far as i know

I have copied the yaml into a file and called it “airtags” and changed all the text as described in the tutorial but when it is called from my configuration file I get this error.

Any ideas on where I should look to correct this?

Some interesting functionality in the iOS 18.2 beta which allows an airtag to be shared with other third parties. Wonder if this opens the door for something to be integrated a little easier within Home Assistant?

I came back to this post, just for this! hehe
@TiToTB is there a change to implement this when the 18.2 goes public?

As I understand it, we’ll have the ability to generate a Share Item Location link within the Find My app. Anyone with the link can access a website displaying the item’s location on a map. The website will automatically update with the item’s most recent known location.
