I would like to create an alarm system in HA for a new home in about 6 months. My current setup has Zoozs zwave light switch running on a zooz 800 series zwave dongle. I also have a SkyConnect for zigbee/thread not currently being used.
I was looking at the Aqara P2 (thread) 15 @ $24 - 360 for door/window sensors or
the older Aqara door/window sensors (zigbee) 15 for $125.45 at Aliexpress.
Is it worth 3 x the cost for the P2?
Any other recommendations for door/window sensors?
Siren recommendation?

Since you use Z-wave, check out the Ring Keypad. You can control one or several directly using Z-wave - no other Ring components or subscription necessary. It works great in conjunction with Alarmo, which is also highly recommended.

I hate the sensors on the door
You can buy recessed magnetic switches
Drill at angle with 1/8 or so bit so it come out just above trim where drywall meets trim
Over same hole, Drill In frame using 1/4 to 1/2 auger bit to depth of sensor. This is not drilled at angle.
Pull wire through hole and install switch in frame
Many door/windows sensors have contacts that allow connection of binary sensor. Install above door frame covering wires
It’s a wireless sensor but much cleaner looking install

I break the magnets from the plastic trim, drill hole in door/window, use small caulk to place
