Alarmo :: Countdown Sound

Hi everyone.

For those using Alarmo, how are you notifying people when they walk into the home that the alarm is armed and needs to be disarmed. The use case is visitors to the home, not people with the Home Assistant app installed on their phones.

Normally, with a traditional alarm system, you walk in through the front door, and you get the countdown beep - letting you know you need to take action on the alarm.

I’m interested in how people are handling this with the Alarmo integration. I was going to place a keypad, or tablet by the front door. But I need an audible trigger to remind people to disarm the alarm.

What are you doing?
Thanks in advance

If you have Z-wave, you can easily set up a Ring keypad or two, and send them the command to perform an “Exit Delay” audio countdown. The keypad has several built-in sound options that you can initiate on command from Alarmo (and/or your own automation.)

I am using zWave. Is there a specific version of the keypad I need to use?

The one linked-to, “(2nd Gen)”. You do not need any of the other Ring components - you can connect directly to the keypad using your existing Z-wave.

There is an excellent Community Guide/Blueprint for getting this set up.
