Alexa and Simplified Commands

Been away from HA for a while (and forgotten a lot!), but is it possible to get Alexa to turn off a selection of devices with a simple command - for example Alexa Goodnight which will turn off x number of devices regardless of their current state?

Hope that makes sense

You should be able to set up a routine in Alexa which calls a HA script.

  1. Create a Script in HA with the desired actions.
I name my scripts with a &, so as to easily recognize my scripts (and automations). For my going to sleep script I named it & Dark. My Automations’ names start with #.

  2. In HA Settings, select Voice Assistants, then Alexa.

  3. Select xx entities exposed, then + Expose entities, and add the script that you created.

  4. In the Alexa App on your phone, go to Routines, then + (top right),

  5. In When, select Voice and put the word that you want to use. In my example I used Dark (Alexa Dark).

  6. In Alexa Will, select Smart Home, then Scenes,

  7. Then select the script name that you created in HA, in my example & Dark. Select ON.

That should do it.
