I have thread device (aqara u200 lock) add added it to alexa using the echo 4th speaker.
How can add this device into home assistant? K read some documentation on Apple and google thread border routers but nothing on alexa.
It was some time ago, but if you have alexa integration then you can add devices through this integration. You just have to expose it to home assistant. This is how I added two switch bot robots using ble connected through some tub, tuya I think.
But as alexa integration is broken and there is work in progress to fix all the issues, probably currently this is not possible.
When they fix alexa integration maybe you will be able to add it like that.
I had the amazon alexa integration in the past but I wasn’t able to add devices connected to alexa to home assistant. I thought that integration was mainly to integrate HA devices to alexa. So you’re saying it works in both ways?
Assuming they fix the integration, will devices connected to alexa be able to connect to HA? And if so, how.
It was before. But as they will rewritte everything as this integration ceashed home assistant i dont know how will end up in the future, when they release it.
As i remember devices that are connected to alexa and not home assistant could be enabled in home assistant integration so they were saw as devices and entities. I think i done that in voice assistant settings but it was long time ago i cant remember all details.
But i know that i had two finger robot that i couldnt get integrated in ha as they were using ble. I had some tuya hub so i paired with it. They were available in alexa using tuya integration. And somehow i integrated them in ha over alexa integration as they appeared as devices. If i remember correctly.
Thats really cool how you manaved to connect it to alexa devices connected to HA.
I had some wifi ights bulbs whoch had alexa integration. But i couldnt connect them to HA via alexa. I asked on forms and everyone on the thread said its not possible. So im surprised how you manageed to get them connected.
Either way this is not topic of this thread. I just wanted to know more about thread since echo devices can act as thread routers. Whether they can link to HA just like apple pods and google
Well I don’t have any thread devices nor any experience with them but probably this should work with home assistant.
This aquara lock seems a bit pricey. I don’t know. Im currently negotiate with some Chinese company to send me their smart door lock that use zigbee protocol. This could be, probably or very likely, be installed on pvc door that is using multi lock system. Will see.
