Ive followed a guide on YT from Everything Smart Home. Got the external access working etc.
Alexa can see all of my WIFI based devices, but none of my Zwave or Zigbee.
Ive checked my region on AWS, my config has api: alexa: smart home: , Ive disabled and re enabled the skill etc.

I was looking through the lamda and alexa dev screens and i noticed my ARN was blank. which it wasnt yesterday. i tried re adding it and it errored out.
searching the error, it looks like your aws region has to be oregon or virginia for alexa usage. ohio or the other one wont work.
set up under virginia. found all my devices now
