Alexa local + Node-RED+ Home assistant Not Working

Alexa local + Node-RED+ Home assistant Not Working
I happen to see this wonderful tutorial buy Rob /The Hookup https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QfoXdcfqKI
I tried to add Alexa local & debug node. My Alexa app doesn’t discover the device.
I see in Node red the alexa local node change from ONLINE to DISCOVERY but nothing happens after that. If I check-in Alexa android app. I get the message “No new Devices found.”.

In short am not able to control my devices using Alexa Local node.
Please help

Do you have the emulated hue bridge enabled in your configuration? Is your computer running HA and your echo on the same network segment?

The Alexa local node doesn’t work on certain echo devices, unsolved issue atm. Read the info node or their github.

Ok
I use echo dot 3rd Gen

I run it on 2nd and 3rd gen … but sometimes I have to delete all my devices in Alexa app before starting discovery!

i am not able to discover any device. how can i delete & add ?
Have tried almost 100 times. No use :frowning:

Couple things you could try.

Stop and restart Node Red. I’ve had discovery problems where this solved it.

Delete the Alexa node from NR, and make a new one, and see if that one works. Might try giving it a different name too. For troubleshooting, maybe make a few Alexa nodes with different names, and see if any are discovered.

I go the alexa.amazon.com to manage my devices, but I expect the app should work just as well.

3rd Gen echo Any update??

3 Months still No fruitful results

Same problem here

I got here through the same video tutorial. Apparently the node-red-contrib-alexa-local package was not updated to 3rd gen devices, so it works only for people with Echos from the 1st or 2nd gen. I found however an alternative: node-red-contrib-alexa-echo the only difference is that before the device you have to setup an Amazon Echo Hub ( you can use the default values, no need to change any field) and it can output to more Amazon Device nodes if you want more. It did work on my 3rd gen.
