Alexa will not discover devices (1st time HA setup w/ Nabu Casa)

Sorry if this is a dumb problem, but I am a first-time HA user and I’m just trying to get my Alexa devices onto HA. I set up my home assistant today and I bought the subscription to Nabu Casa, went through the online tutorial and linked my Alexa account through the ‘skill’ section, however, after it began searching for devices, it presented an error that it did not find any devices. Looking back into my Home Assistant → Voice Assistant setting shows that I have “0 entities exposed” which is where all my currently connected Alexa devices should be.

Again, this is my first day with Home Assistant and I’m pretty lost, so any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

You have to expose an entity for Alexa to discover it. In the tab at the top of the voice assistants screen, click on Expose, then on the blue Expose Entities button bottom right. This should give you a list of entities and you can tick the boxes for the ones you want.

It’s a good idea to keep the Expose new entities switch on the voice assistants page set to off - there will soon be thousands of them… :grinning:
