HI
Homebridge integration is installed on a RPi3 HA 0.112.
Added to ‘Home’ on iPhoneX and iPad 4.
The iPad is set as ‘Hub’.
All devices work on the iPhone.
All devices show ‘No Response’ on the iPad.
I have tried removing the integration in HA (including the hidden homekit.state file) and all accessories from iPad & iPhone and started afresh to no avail.
What am I missing?
Did you manage to make it work somehow? I’m in same bot. I haven’t set any dedicated iDevice as hub yet though.
I’m afraid not.
My iPhone tends to lose everything too when ever HA restarts or whenever it fells like it. I find the setup very unreliable.
I’m new to Home Assistant itself, I’m heavy SmartThings user.
What happens when you restart HA? Do you have to remove older bridge from Home app on iphone and add new bridge? Or sooner or later it picks up/sync some?
As of now I’m just using one iphone, nothing else is set up as home hub.
Yes. My iPhone frequently looses the home kit connection such that the Home App doesn’t work. In that case I have to remove anything remaining in the Home app and in HA and start over.
The iPad is still ‘No Response’ on all devices.
@PierreScerri
Mine is working stable now. I removed older Homebridge from integration and created new.
Instead on selecting all component, I added only those are essential and use include from settings to select lights, garade good, motion sensors and door contacts.
HA by default shows tons of entity, like single garage door showed contact, cover, battery entities from them. I just selected cover(which shows if garage door is open or close and allow me to change), likewise for other devices.
In essence, limited the number of devices to around 83( not a limit per say, it’s just how many I’ve allowed to homebridge), previously i had over 200.
Hope this helps.
I have also done that, ie select only the entities that I need in Home.app.
My issue at this time is to get it to workwhen not at home. The HA app can control devices remotely, but the Home.app doesn’t.
And you have any of ‘hub’ type decide at home designated as hub right?
I think you can use apple TV 4th gen, or Ipad or homepod.
If you have one of these device designated as hub and your all iPhones are part of same home group, It should work.
Yes I have an iPad as hub on the home network.
In that case if has to be something firewall related. I have no idea what port Apple uses to communicate with internal hub from outside.
but to start, you can see if this ports work fine or not. https://www.jethrocarr.com/2018/06/03/firewall-rules-for-homekit-with-homeassistant/
I’m not sure that I can apply those rules on my HA instance as the terminal commands available in HA (Hassos) is very limited.
