Are you running the current version of Alexa Media Player? Some of the updates in the newest version of HA made it necessary to update some underlying software that AMP relies on. As of Aug 10, 2024 the current version is 4.12.7
amp should have prompt you of an update is available for amp. Go to your Hacs and click on the Alexa media player integration package. That may invoke an upgrade is available for amp.
I notice that is the case for other Hacs integrations where you need to click on them. Then it will prompt you for an update if there is one.
Thanks, I was updating my prior message to say that I found the update in HACS, at the same time you were replying to me.
So, media_player entities are all “standby”, but in my brief test, working. I was watching ‘states’ in another window and my test media_player is working again, but the state is always “standby”.
Mine is showing standby as well. All 4 of my players. I have not updated to 2024.8, but I know the player is working as this morning it was announcing my daily automation.
I only use it to announce things around the house, like “Dryer is finished”. It may be sending the data to Alexa so fast that I don’t see anything but standby. I’ve never played anything like music from Amazon Music through Home Assistant. I wonder if that would change the state?
