I purchased the Alladin Genie garage door thinking they would play nice with Home Assistant about 8 months or so ago. Sounds like the Smart Things app requires an update every 24 hours so the only way to really get the Alladin Genie Garage Doors to play nicely with Home Assistant is Homebridge and the plug in is that correct? I have the Homebridge add on but I can’t open the webui so I’m trying to see if maybe there is another option.
If your opener used simple closed contact for open /close, the best choice is esphome. You can get an esp device with a relay or something like this
Just discovered, Genie integrates with SmartThings. You can also run Homebridge and integrate a Genie plugin through the Homekit integration.
