Now with all the new awesome filters we have for sorting items in the UI, it would be cool to have the option to change to an alternative interface similar to folders on most operating systems.
The user would be able to choose a filter type and each filter item would become “folders” you enter to see the corresponding items. If your filter type was area, the “folders” would be your areas, “Kitchen”, “Living Room” etc.
I think it would be important for Home Assistant to also remember the chosen UI and filter type. In fact It would be awesome to have a choice to remember the applied filter with the current UI as well. Like a checkbox with “Remember my choice”.
