Now that OSRAM has discontinued the Lightify cloud service, I finally made the decision to migrate all my bulbs over to my SmartThings hub. One thing I miss is how responsive the interaction was between the dimmers and bulbs. When I use the dimmers in a SmartThings automation, there is often a noticeable lag after I press the button, plus it’s a lot more work to associate the buttons with lights in the SmartThings mobile app. Can anyone recommend a good replacement wall switch that works well in Home Assistant? I tried one of those Sengled dimmers and it was absolute garbage. The battery drained after only a couple of days, even after putting in a fresh one. I’ve replaced enough CR2032s over the past few years and I think I’m done with that. My requirements are:
- reliable and responsive
- Zigbee or Z-Wave, not Wi-Fi
- doesn’t require a cloud connection
- all device functionality is exposed to Home Assistant
- ideally on mains power (I do have a neutral wire), although I don’t want to actually dim the circuit, just send dimmer commands to the hub
