Noob question. First post.
What’s the difference between the variants of the AM2302 sensor. 3 versions: one just the sensor with the pins, one on a small pcb, and one on a larger Pcb.
I bought one on the smaller pcb to test and works ok on my sonoff. Looking the buy some more and the ones not mounted would be a neater install, but keen to understand the difference.
Some of the PCB versions have the needed resistor on board (10k between 5v and data in).
The non PCB mounted versions usually need to add the resistor.
That’s all I’ve noticed.
Hope its of help.
Thanks that’s super helpful.
Is resistor value important I have some 1k knocking around. Will probably just give it a go.
1k may be not enough. 4.7k-10k well usually work.
Hope its of help.
Reporting back that the non pcb 4 pin am2302 work on a sonoff basic r2 on both gpio2 and gpio3 without requiring a pull up resistor.
