I’m trying to come up with a solution to turn on my outdoor lighting when there’s an amazon delivery scheduled before sunrise. Amazon in my area has just started adding delivery windows starting at 4am. My normal lighting schedule for my landscape and front porch lights has them turn off at 11pm.
My security lighting will obviously come on if someone approaches the house but the lighting for my house numbers are tied to the rest of my landscape lighting. I’d like to be able to have the lights automatically come on if there’s a scheduled delivery during times that the sun is not up and preferably only when packages are “out for delivery”.
I’ve searched around and can’t find any integration that can provide amazon delviery entities at all, has anyone ever done this or know how I might be able to accomplish this?
I’ll give this a look but if it doesn’t support direct amazon deliveries I don’t think it will work for me as the only thing I really care about is Amazon deliveries that occur overnight and USPS definitely isn’t doing that. Now, if I could set up this integration to detect email from Amazon as pacakges and somehow parse the delivery time information to get what i want that might be usefl.
It does, but if I remember correctly, if an Amazon delivery gets delivered by USPS it gets a tad confused (I think you end up with an Amazon AND a USPS delivery, but the Amazon one never shows as delivered) as I don’t think the Amazon emails really reflect this nuance.
I honestly just use it for delivery notifications (which it works perfectly at). Obviously though, it’s limited by what info is in the emails Amazon sends.
That API is for shippers. I found it last night before I posted here. It doesn’t look like there’s anything like it available that’s customer facing unfortunately.
