Hello! I just got an amber x device to use as a NAS and to run home assistant. When I booted it up it already has a home assistant app tied to it. This is great however I don’t have access to add ons. Does anyone know a work around or have you experienced this?

Well that’s good news because HACS is not an addon. It is a third party integration. Please refer to the HACS installation instructions: Prerequisites | HACS
Also as to why you do not have addons, that could be because of the installation method chosen by the makers of your device. See the comparison here: Installation - Home Assistant
You can check your installation method in the Settings → About menu.
Thanks! I figured it out! Now I am in really deep. I think I need to switch my dashboard or storage to Lovelace and not YAML. and I can’t seem to find how to do that. Trying to add some custom HACS cards and it keeps saying this when I try to update resources on a dashboard “You are using your dashboard in YAML mode, therefore you cannot manage your resources through the UI. Manage them in configuration.yaml.” any ideas?
