An ebusd add-on

Hi. Is any chance to release new addon with new ebusd 22.3 ?

22.3 build is currently failing on Alpine:

https://github.com/john30/ebusd/discussions

Hello

i just buy an ebusd wifi adapter, (EBUS to WiFi adapter by Daniel Kucera's store) and i want to launch the ebusd addon to follow the potentiometer adjustment documentation. (6. Hardware · john30/ebusd Wiki · GitHub)

i tried to edit the configuration like this but it doesn’t work any idea ?

scanconfig: true
loglevel_all: debug
mqtttopic: ebusd
mqttint: /etc/ebusd/mqtt-hassio.cfg
mqttjson: true
network_device: udp:192.168.10.32:9999
latency: 10
commandline_options: '-f -c /tmp --logareas bus --loglevel info --lograwdata=bytes'

and the logs tell me

> ebusd --foreground --mqtthost=core-mosquitto --mqttport=1883 --mqttuser=addons --mqttpass=wish4apoCh3aiph1oobol8dahdohx9oozoeDap6yee4athei4Aevee5uxohphaih --scanconfig --mqttjson --latency=10 --mqttint=/etc/ebusd/mqtt-hassio.cfg --mqtttopic=ebusd --device=udp:192.168.10.32:9999 --log=all:debug -f -c /tmp --logareas bus --loglevel info --lograwdata=bytes
ebusd: invalid logareas (combined with log)

Did you read the ebusd log output…

ebusd: invalid logareas (combined with log)

Remove this from your command line options:

-f -c /tmp --logareas bus --loglevel info

This option is also an advanced option that you shouldn’t need unless you have a specific reason so can be removed:

--lograwdata=bytes

Hello

When i remove --logareas bus --loglevel info, i don’t have any error, but i don’t see message from the bus in the log to manage the adjustment of the potentiometer.

because i don’t see any equipement on the bus or any bus log at all.

Hello,

I have two questions:

  1. Which is the URL to the newest add-on repo? I lost track of the thread regarding this.
  2. Is it possible to use a local config file? I have a ebusd device config that is not in the official configuration repo.

Thanks a lot
Jan

  1. Ebusd is latest stable release. Ebusd-edge compiles latest sources from GitHub

  2. Yes, there is an option for that. Read the docs

Thanks!

Today I moved from my docker-compose setup to the add-on. Without a problem!

Works great with my Vaillant recoVAIR VAR 260/4.

Hi everyone! I am going to attempt to integrate some devices that have ebus into home assistant, namely my mechanical ventation with heat recuperator (WOLF CLW-300) and my all-in-one heatpump (Saunier Duval genia set 8).

For now I’ve run two-wire cable from the Wolf ventilation to the raspberry where I have my HA running. I few months back I bought the ebuzzz adapter (eBUS USB Adapter (eBuzzz adapter) from FoxRom Store (from fromeijn.nl) on Tindie) since the ebus adapter v3 that it’s kind of “official” was out of stock and the creator didn’t anticipate stock coming back soon. Seems that there’s stock now.

I have a couple questions that might be basic, but here they go:

  1. Can I connect two ebus devices (heatpump and heat recuperator) to the same adapter?
  2. If as I imagine I’ll need a second adapter, will the home assistant add-on be able to control two devices using two adapter?

Thanks. Hopefully tonight I’ll try to connect the wires for real.

Best to ask those questions here - Discussions · john30/ebusd · GitHub

I seems to kind of work, but it doesn’t do much/anything. It seems to know that there’s a Wolf device connected, but the logs show a lot of messages about unknown commands and the only MQTT messages being sent are generic messages about the status, uptime and similar stuff about ebusd itself.

What can be happening? Maybe ebusd doesn’t know how to understand messages sent by the Wolf CWL-300?

As I said before, for ebusd support submit a question here - Discussions · john30/ebusd · GitHub

Hi. ANybody can telle me how on autodiscovery mqtt use this untieties from ebusd to create example thermostat with controll temperature ? How set temp ? I can not do it… not working for me as works for old config without autodiscovery…

Is aby chance to upgrade ebusd addon to version 22.4 because it support high speed serial.

22.4 is not released yet. If you want to use bleeding edge code use ebusd-edge addon. This builds ebusd locally from the latest sources

But on page where is firmware for ebusd adapter write about 22.4

Ebusd release page is here - Releases · john30/ebusd · GitHub
