With the recent purchase of ESPHome by Nabu Casa, it got me thinking about how I like the idea of using low cost DIY solutions that use ESP8266 or ESP32. However, I generally prefer to use zigbee or zwave devices instead of wifi. Is their any hardware equivalent that use zwave or zigbee?

AFAIK, you can flash ESPHome onto these. But, I’m not 100% certain of that.
