Analysing performance issues with configuration.yaml

Hi all,

would anyone have any hints or tips on how best to analyse performance issues with their setup in their configuration.yaml.

I seem to be hitting issues with my setup recently, since adding new templates, which appear to be causing my raspberry pi4 to overheat, so was looking for specific guidance as to how best to analyse these issues. Are there any notes, pinned topics etc which I’ve missed in my investigations?

Thanks in advance
Tony

Just a side note: What about decent cooling of the Pi?

Hi,

thanks, a case with a fan on is also planned, but would rather at this point, look for the cause, rather than sticking plasters on something which isn’t working in the way it should. Introducing a fan, introduces another potential point of failure. The case I have currently, is a Geekworm Raspberry Pi 4 Aluminum Case, which others use to great success.

My setup currently uses the following integrations:
esphome
forecast solar
google calendars
hacs
hildebrand glow (dcc)
samsung c48x series printer integration
logitech harmony hub
netatmo home assistant cloud
openweather map
owntracks
hue bridge
house load - shelly
sonoff

tuya
withings
z-wave js (31 devices)
sonoff zigbee 3.0 (6 devices)

Add-ons
node-red

Additional information: I setup an i5 NUC to run Virtual box, but as I’m using usb devices for zigbee and z-wave, this was causing a few headaches with them being detected and usable. However, the NUC was also hanging :frowning:

Ok, after disabling some integrations and removing some custom templates from configuration.yaml - no change. However removing the ontracks add-on, and so far, we’ve been rock solid for approx 18 hours.
