Android 2021.12: Wear OS Beta!

It’s a new watch for me since last week from Amazon.Overall I am pleased with it except for the 72 hour battery life, overnight last night the Bluetooth connection with my phone disconnected and so far sleep tracking seems inaccurate. Last night I triggered Good Night script at 1:30 am and woke up about 9-9:30 am but sleep tracking says I only slept 3:39 am - 07:55 am. I kind of like the ability to make phone calls from it rather than just receive like on the Honor Magic.

Just strap a portable USB battery pack to your arm and you should be good to go a couple of weeks!

I recommend using the app called ‘Sleep As Android’. There is an integration for HA too. I use that to trigger automations via MQTT, works great.

Great suggestion, thanks!

Same problem… did you find any solution?

HA complications in WearOS are awesome.

However, in the current iteration, it takes a really long time to find and set the desired sensor (about 5 minutes of scrolling through hundreds of sensor items). Is that normal for right now?

Also, the complication includes template sensor name in the label which creates readability issues on small watch faces. Any way to exclude the name of the sensor and just show the data?

Thx!

How long does the heart rate sensor update? I notice that mine takes a long time to update, even the watch updates the beats very often

it will update on the normal sensor update interval so every 15ish minutes or when any other sensor has an update (given the reading was not bad because we do discard invalid readings)

OK. Thanks for the answer. My heart rate sensor in the home assistant was updated 8 hours ago, but the watch took several measurements in that time.

make sure to update to the latest beta in the play store…there is a fix for that actually

Hi guys, anyone with this problem?
My TicWatch is getting worse with the HA app, it does not load anything, sensor not update also

Is Media Player support planned for the Wear OS app? I use Google Home to control my Sonos speakers, but the exposed Home Assistant entities don’t show media playback info. Connecting Home to Sonos directly does show the media info, but can’t control volume with the crown (I can when using the HA entity).

Neither of these Home options maintain the Media Player in the background, so every time I want to change a track/volume I have to go open Home again.

I mostly control a Move 2 which has Sonos Voice and does a decent job at my media control needs.

Being a Tidal users means I don’t have a Tidal app on Wear OS. I do miss this about Spotify. YouTube Music has a Media Player app but it can’t control Sonos playback.

media player support has not been requested yet, are you looking for support for the entity in the Wear OS app or a dedicated tile from the watchace? in the meantime you can work around the issue by using a script in either place

Whatever makes more sense for the development. Having a dedicated media player app on Watch OS would allow us to control media on any Home Assistant media player of our choosing, bridging and gaps between Wear OS and the target device.

Having the Home Assistant Wear OS App provide some basic controls of a Media Player would be nice too.
