Android entity state widget does not show attribute as expected

Hi everyone,

I’m a total beginner at home assistant and I’m trying to set widgets on my android home screen to control some of my smart devices. I want to use the entity state widget because I like the fact that I can see the state and toggle the device as well.

However, when setting up my widget, I can only display the state and the name of the device. If I activate the attribute section and select icon for example, the widget shows the ID of the icon instead of the image (see screenshot below)

Anyone having the same issue ? Is there a parameter that I need to activate ?

icon is not supported in that widget

Thank you for confirming what I suspected. It’s a bit weird that is it proposed in the attributes however when setting up the widget.

I went another route with a shortcut to the mobile dashboard which is better anyway.

thats because icon is an actual attribute and we are displaying the same text as you see in the States panel
