Announcements and TTS to WiiM Pro - Music Assistant?

I’m trying to figure out how to use Music Assistant integration, with or without Linkplay or best other option, to play announcements and TTS to my connected speaker groups through my WiiM Pro device.

My desired use case:

  • Door chime when contact sensors open.
  • TTS for spoken temp levels, etc.
  • Alarm sound if door left open.
  • Custom sound for various automation rules.

Any direction or examples would be a huge help.

I have no advice to give but I would also be very interested in the best way to integrate my Wiim Pro better into Home Assistant in general and Music Assistant also. I’m currently using the depricated HACS Linkplay integration that I have modified to work a bit better with the Wiim Pro and how I use it.

Anybody using automations with an action to play audible sounds or music through a smart speaker / media player device?

Doesn’t the Wiim Pro support Chromecast? I currently use Chromecast Audio connected to powered speakers for my whole house audio and do TTS announcements with Piper. I’ve been looking to replace my CCAs with the Wiim Pro, just waiting for Plexamp support…

I just enabled the Chromecast feature in my wiim pro. Now I have to see what’s next to use a media entity to send announcements to it.
So I use plexamp as well and notice when I enabled the Chromecast option in the wiim pro, I can see the wiim pro shows as a player to cast to in plexamp now.
