Hi all,
First post & new member. I’ve searched to the best of my ability and can’t find clear information so I decided to break silence.
I’m another one of the many Wink refugees slowing appearing here, although I’ve been working with HASS for a few months now experimenting before I made my decision, so I have some slight benefit over others and am confident I made the right decision for my next HA platform.
quick background-
I have successfully moved all devices over from Wink in the last 48 hours on a brand new setup using a RBP3b+ and a Nortek zigbee/zwave adapter. Everything was pretty simple so far and last night I put together my first custom lovelace UI card using some HACS scripts and lots of googling. The wife is LOVING it compared to Wink and is encouraging me to fully integrate.
I only have a small inventory right now focused on lighting-
11x GE link bulbs (zigbee)
Ecobee therm + 4 room sensors
1x zigbee ceiling fan w/ light
MyQ garage door
Plex server
2x network-capable TV
My setup has traditionally been simply for centralized control from an app over automation, although I was using some robots in Wink to set bulbs to 1% brightness at sunset to provide some automatic night lights in the hallway/bathroom and wake lights in the morning.
I am running into a few gaps and will try not to create a garbage thread where I dump all my problems… these all kind of relate together with a problem I am trying to solve and would like some input from this valuable community.

Kiddie smoke alarms
I have realized my existing 2x pack of Kiddie smart smoke alarms designed for Wink are using 433mhz instead of zigbee/zwave and that Wink had an interface for this. Having push/email alerts on smoke alarm detection was one of my most loved features for piece of mind. -
Other “dumb” RF things
2x other ceiling fans, outdoor RGB hanging patio string lights with RF controller
I only have some career background in 802.11 @ 2.4/5ghz and this is all new to me
Anyone who has read this far knows what I’m going to ask so I’ll put it simply – is there a multi-compatible USB adapter supported by HASS I can simply plug in like my Nortek adapter, install an integration, configure some dip switches, and start sending on/off/value commands to these?
I’ve looked into RF link but none of my products seem to be supported by it and I may even be on the wrong path here. Where do I start? (priority @ smoke alarms)
Thanks in advance!!
