Hey y’all,
I’m looking for some lighting options for a new home. Specifically, I’d like to find some smart LED chandeliers in the style of the pic below. There are tons on Amazon, and they are surprisingly affordable, but they all use a wireless IR remote which feels cheap and inelegant. I know I can get a dimmable chandelier and use a zigbee switch and that’s a fine solution. I’m just curious if anyone has found or knows of a truly smart option with color change, intensity, etc?
If you just want dimming, you can buy just about any chandelier you like and add something like the Shelly Dimmer 2 (with the bypass if you don’t have a neutral handy). It’s small enough to hide in a lot of light bases and behind wall switches. It’s Wi-Fi and should be supported by HA.
If your chandelier takes regular bulbs, you can put smart bulbs in it. That’s what I’ve done with mine. Google Wi-Fi/Zigbee/Zwave (whichever control protocol you prefer) and dimmer
