Any solution to have a notification when Hassio needs restart?

Unfortunately my Hassio gets blocked once in a while (sometimes daily, sometimes every other day).

Nothing in log. I hope sooner or later to find the cause, but in the meantime I wish to get notified when it is blocked, so to restart/reboot.

Any solution? Thanks

How do you expect to receive a notification if HA is down? To do this you would need another instance to monitor

I don’t know, yes maybe another instance, a very simple one, that monitors if the main instance is working? But how?

Monit? https://mmonit.com/monit/

What does “get blocked” mean in this case?

Seems to me you’d want to find the cause and fix it, not try to bandaid it

What are you checking for:

-Server down HA unavailable
-network down HA unavailable
-HA down (application issue)

I think all case require external (different server/network) service to check for HA and report if down and every scenario I previously imagine it not seem worth time and thought it best to Prevent Failure in first place since that is actual desire.

Maybe send "hello’ to IFTT every [xx]minutes.
If message not receive [x2] send notification to …
Not sure if that possible but that or similar would work.

You can do opposite where HA must cancel some message or it gets sent. Like plot from movie where the guy meets up to pick up kidnap person but make sure they must keep him alive else everything on SD card is sent to news outlets…

I am trying to fix it since a year, sooner or later will succeed, now I need a temporary fix

Ha down, unresponsive.

Now I find out by some automation not working, or opening the app, and can’t connect (Host wor ks), so I manually restart (sometimes works, sometimes I have to reboot, sometimes reboot twice).

Yes something like that, although I did not come out with a working solution yet

I found what it seems to me a good solution
