I want to confirm that I’ve got this right and I’m not missing anything. I have Google Assistant configured to work with HA. I can tell successfully get it to control the domains that I’ve configured (light, switch, climate, script) but so can anyone (a guest, stranger) whose voice can be picked up by a google assistant speaker or display.
My understanding from the Google side of it is that aside from my personal information, this is by design. They want to allow guests to say ok google, what’s the weather and also allows control of home automation.
Is there anything that can be done with the Google Assistant component to restrict access to HA to only trained voices? I currently have locks excluded from the domain list, but it would be nice if I could lock and unlock the locks with only my voice.
