Any zigbee sensors running on rechargeable batteries?

Hi. I am new to home automation and to home assistant. I run HA on Pi3+zigbee dongle + integration with Lutron Caseta via Caseta bridge pro. I started with some smartthings multipurpose sensors (used as door sensors) and created some basic automations. I am impressed with the performance and responsiveness of the whole thing, especially considering it is running from a RPi. Thanks to the HA community.

What I don’t like though is that the sensors run on non-rechargeable batteries. The sensors have been installed less than 2 weeks ago and the battery power level is already around 80%. Because of the costs, the hassle and the environmental impacts, I would much prefer to have sensors running on rechargeable batteries (e.g., AA or AAA), or even on AC/DC power (in don’t mind running cables).

I have searched such zibgee sensors but without success.

I would be interested to know if anybody can know about any good zigbee sensors (door, motion, …) that would either run on rechargeable batteries or from wired power.

Thanks.

I wouldn’t depend on the battery level provided. I have some sensors where I replaced batteries at the same time and one shows 80% and the other 100% after 1 month of use. My door/window sensor run on the same battery for over one year and batter level still shows 90%.

If you want wired sensors, I d suggest not going the ZigBee route as there are not a lot (I don’t know any) mains powered ZigBee sensors. Either DIY or KNX, Loxone or something like this.

I have a couple of these

They use AA I think, maybe AAA, certainly one or the other.

However, my cell battery sensors have been in for months and are all still well over 90%.

Thanks for the insights. I am not absolutely looking for wire-powered sensors, but at least rechargeable battery ones would be a great improvement. Thanks again.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, it does not look like the Trust sensors are available here in Canada.
