Anybody tried one of these yet: RaZberry Gen 2 Z-Wave+ GPIO Daughter Card

http://z-wave.us/razberry.html

Not seeing many threads in the search :wink:

(Yes)

I was referring to the new version released this year.

Hope it’s OK - updated the post title to make it meaningful in post list and search results.

From that page it looks like it’s the US frequency version that they’ve just released. The EU version has been around for for 6 months or longer. Many posters won’t differentiate between v1 and v2 models, so many of those threads will still apply.

Oh, and I’ve got one and it works just fine.

@Tinkerer

What do you think would be better and have better support for future devices etc.

aotec gen5 usb z-wave stick in an intel nuc

or

rasp pi 3b+ witih this addon card bridged to home assistant via mqtt

does hass.io support barrier commands with aotec usb stick yet?

Thanks

I actually switched over to a nuc about 6 months ago. The sd card in my pi died so I made the switch. It was remarkably painless (I had a backup of config files). It’s been pretty much so rock solid ever since. I’m running HomeAssistant and Appdaemon on it without any performance issues. I had had to switch them to two separate pi’s due to the number of zwave devices I am running.

So you have h.a. on the nuc, and you use 1x pi with the zwave hat and then use mqtt to communicate from the pi to the nuc? Do you run h.a. or something else on the pi?

No I never bought the hat. I was just wondering how it worked before I bought one.

Makes no difference - any 500 series (Z-Wave Plus) stick/card is functionally the same as any other. The brand is irrelevant.

Currently on sale at ZWaveProducts for $23.99
