I got node-red-contrib-homeconnect installed now but have trouble getting it to work.
When I check the “use simulation” box, it is working fine. I enter my secrets, click the button, get redirected to the home connect page, login, accept, get redirected (to a page with the token in the URL and showing OK) and then the OauTh2 node shows “authorized”.
When I remove the “use simulation” checkbox, it is all the same, I get redirected, Login, Accept, get redirected to the oauth URL showing me OK but the Oauth2 node in Node-RED keeps saying “authorizing” forever
Is Home Connect an alternative to Home Assistant? I went to their website but it didn’t really explain what it does, or what it is. I clicked around for a bit, but just see marketing jargon.
Home Connect is a platform for household devices from Bosch Siemens and some other vendors. My oven, cooker, and air exhaust can be controlled through Home Connect. As Home Assistant has no Home Connect support so far I am aware of, I try to use the Node RED contrib for my automations that involve Home Connect devices.
It is a while ago since I set this up…but I guess you could either use a dyndns (which means you will need port forwarding etc.) or the fantastic Home Assistant Cloud offer which will give you a public URL without having to configure your router and expose your system And with that you also contribute to HA development.
