Anyone able to help me with Onju Voice?

I have struggled with this thing since Day one. Nothing I do seems to make a difference. I purchased 5 boards from PCBWay exactly as the project calls for. I purchased 2 nest minis (gen 2 as required). I stripped both down and removed the google pcb. I have hooked up and flashed 2 of the 5 boards for testing and I get the same results from both which is pretty much nothing. I can get it flashed in esphome, it can connect to wifi, i see the leds light up on boot. I can flash new configs wirelessly. I can touch the 3 pads on the pcb and the logs show volume going up and down but nothing else works. On initial boot I can tap volume up a couple times and I MIGHT get it to trigger and hear the wake word and I can try to give it a command but the logs show it didnt hear anything CLOSE to what I said AT ALL so it fails. The logs show an mp3 for its response but there is no audio out of it. I tried going to the URL directly in my pc browser and nothing. After that failure it will never trigger for the wakeword no matter how many times I tap the volume up until I reboot it. I dont know enough to know if this is something with the software or maybe the pcbs. I can swap the original google pcb back in and it works fine. I am so burnt out fighting this thing I dont know what to do. Is there any other satellites at this point that are easy to setup and work well? I have spent so much money on this and all its done is piss me off. If you want to see the logs of me fighting to get it to trigger here is some:

If anyone has suggestions on what to try to get this working I am willing but if i continue on my own I think im gonna end up taking a hammer to everything. Thanks!

For the , it only work ones part , that is a bug in esphome 2024.5 , a fix will be in 2024.5.6 .
For the rest , it seems to work as expected from your logs.
The mp3s are the responses not your voice.

To listen to your own voice ,
if you add

assist_pipeline:
  debug_recording_dir: /share/assist_pipeline

to HA configuration.yaml then reboot then test you will find folders with your command in .wav

Thanks for the replies and that debug option PhilippeP for my messages! I will give that a try later tonight and see how bad it hears me. Right I understand the mp3s are supposed to be responses from the assist system. That’s why I tried loading the mp3 URL in my browser to see if they existed. The satellite it self never plays them. I get 0 audio out of it.

Will35 as for my Voice Assistant config it works in the Assist text box fine as well as those little $15 atoms but their speaker and mic are horrid. Was hoping this would be better, sitting right next to it and it doesn’t understand anything. I haven’t even bothered to put it back together so was hoping the mic would hear better not closed up. but its only on the first boot I can test, after that it never triggers again for me unless I pull power. So is that the bug you were referring to PhilippeP? The wake word only working the one time? If so that explains im not 100% crazy then

I can give the assist window the same commands in text I was trying with the satellite which is just “office light on/off” or the bedroom one. Assist window works.

Am I supposed to have to keep hitting the volume to get it to listen for the wake word? Thanks!
