I’ve tried numerous ways to try to learn RF codes with a recently bought Broadlink Universal Remote (identified as RM2 Pro Plus3 in “Broadlink Manager”). I’ve searched a lot on the forum and found several topics which looked promising at first but didn’t get a result. So far without success, or if a code is learned, it fails to operate my blinds.
Options I have tried include the HA broadlink.learn service, Broadlink Manager, python-broadlink, SharpBroadlink, and NodeRed.
From much googling, I’m forming the impression that Broadlink may have changed details of the codes or the way to learn them for the more recent versions of the Universal Remote, but I don’t know for certain.
I’m sure there’s something I’m missing. If anyone can point me to something that really works, with the recent version, I’d be eternally grateful!
Hi Andrew, I am experiencing the same issues. Have tried Broadlink Manager, e-control app, and python-broadlink. I do get IR codes from Broadlink Manager, but I don’t get the RF codes from my “RM2 Pro Plus3” device. Did you succeed at this point, or are you still looking for a solution?
Hi Christoffel, No I haven’t been able to find a solution and have almost given up hope. I do revisit threads on this forum and elsewhere from time to time to see if there has been a breakthrough. The most hopeful seems to be Homekit, where there is some recent activity to update the plugin for recent versions of the Broadlink devices. I’m not actually a user of Homekit, but if they succeed I think I will give it a try and I believe it can be integrated with HA. I’ve also dabbled with Wireshark in an attempt to intercept the UDP packets but it’s rather beyond me at present.
If you find anything else, please post on here and we can work together on it.
