Anyone tried out the Lenovo Smart Bulb and Smart switch ranges?

Hi Everyone,

I noticed in my local electronics store that Lenovo has a new range of Smart Bulbs and Smart Switches. https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/accessories-and-monitors/smart-home-essentials/smart-lighting/Lenovo-Smart-Bulb-US/p/ZG38C02546

Has anyone played around with them yet? I notice they are all Wi-Fi but was interested to know if you can control them locally or whether they are farming off data to the ‘cloud’ in some Chinese data centre… Doesn’t seem to be much in the way of API support I have seen online?

Ive mostly got Philips for lighting with a bit of Ikea thrown in, but the Lenovo smart switches are very compact compared to the Kasa range…

how did you go with these?

Never ended up buying them.

Anyone?

I bought one with a very good sale price (lenovo smart display + lenovo bulb = 59€)

The lenovo bulb works!

It is a tuya bulb. You must add using Tuya Smart app and then use Tuya Integration and it works perfect (brightness, color, temperature…)

Given these bulbs are now readily available, noting I’ve successfully added Lenovo smart bulb (SE-141BA, white colour-temp controllable) to HA using localtuya, for quick-n-local control. Basically followed instructions from How I made Tuya-Local work with full color controls (although I already had HA / HACS / localuya set up and a Tuya IOT account set up). Adding to this page as this is where my searches first landed me.

Best settings for me (set up in the entity configuration area under localtuya integration):

  • Brightness: 22
  • Colour temp: 23
  • Brightness lower: 5
  • Brightness upper: 1000
  • Colour mode: 21 (value: white)
  • Colour: 23 (value: 1000)
  • Min colour temp: 2700
  • Max colour temp: 6500
  • Scene: 25

This setup supports control of on/off, brightness, colour temp, limited scene settings.
