The last devices I need to move over to HASS from Wink are my Lutron Connected Bulb Remotes. As I understand, these are Zigbee devices, so I was wondering if anyone has had success in getting them to work with HASS.
For what it’s worth, I made some progress by putting one of my remotes into pairing mode and then calling the zha permit service in HASS. The remote is acting like it’s paired, and I see in the HASS log files it was added to the Zigbee network, but I don’t see it listed anywhere as an entity. I also had a look at the Zigbee database and verified the remote is listed there as well.
I’m assuming HASS just doesn’t have the correct driver (if that’s the right word) to use the remote. Has anyone gotten further along with the Connected Bulb remote? Alternatively, any pointers for writing a custom driver/plugin to support it?
I have the connected bulb remote working in hass but it is still paired to my wink hub. In order to get the commands to work i had to set up a template sensor for each of the four buttons. Then I have automation to turn on/off specific devices whenever that particular sensor is tripped.
I have the same stop-gap measure in place; remote paired to Wink and then Wink talks to HASS via the cloud API. Unfortunately my Internet connection is not the most stable so the Wink -> HASS connection is unstable. Ideally, I’d be able to pair the remotes directly to HASS.
So just for the heck of it I tried re-pairing these remotes to the latest version of Home Assistant (I’m honestly amazed I still have them) and wouldn’t you know it, they worked first try. I now have one of them successfully controlling an automation. So obviously this was fixed in one of the HASS releases in the past 6 years
I have all of mine working except one. No matter what I do, I can’t get it to connect even after multiple factory resets. I’m assuming it’s a firmware issue, but I can’t find ANYTHING online about how to update it etc. Did you have any issues with any of yours?
