Hi All!
I have installed a Vasco Niva Electric. English Product Page; Dutch Product Page.
I wanted to make this radiator “smart”. But I couldn’t find a lot on the interwebs.
Here I found this post and became confident that I didn’t need the internal controller from the radiator. (the RF station)
The most exciting thing was to test my theory. I connected the two wires from the radiator to the Line and Neutral (I used a black wire because it will be the switching wire) from the power grid. And lo and behold the radiator became hot. (Just full on, in 3 minutes is was max temp).
After this check, I used a Shelly 1PM with a Shelly add-on and two temperature probes to monitor the temperature of the radiator plate. The probes are stuck to the plate with radiatortape (aluminum tape)
The creation of a thermostat, after the installation in the bathroom, was a breeze.
Just create the helper and voila the radioator is “smart”.
I also installed a door-window sensor on the bathroom door so the radiator automation doesn´t function if the door is open.
I hope this helps some of you guys/girls here.
This was fun to “hack”.
Cheers!
