Anyone use a dog tracker in HA

Has anyone used a dog tracker that can be implemented in HA? I cant hang an iphone or such oround his neck. Wife I can track that way but not the dog. I also have traccar installed but cant find a tracker that works

I was (it just recently broke) using TrackR I was actually the dev that implemented the platform and got it working with Home Assistant. The app works pretty good and the battery lasts a pretty long time. Replacement batteries are cheap when ordered form TrackR. It requires you running the app and bluetooth at all times.

I use it to know if my dog is home or at the babysitter’s :smile: (My grandmother) I have an old cheap Android phone running at her place to pick up the TrackR tag.

Also these aren’t waterproof, but there is a waterproof case.

That is a BLT tracker. Will not work if the dog get lost 1 km away. I need a GPS tracker. But I found one called TK star Mini that Traccar support. Then I can hopefully create a HADashboard that show my Traccar manager website. That is enough
