Has anyone else seen the App Configuration button stop working on mobile devices after the IOS14 update? Both my iPhone11 and my wife’s iPhone 8 continue to work correctly, however on my iPad the link briefly displays the button pop up label (App Configuration) for about a second then nothing. The app config page does not open.
I have tried rebooting the iPad, uninstalling Home Assistant and reinstalling, logging out and back in again to no avail.
All other features, pages and options continue to function correctly except for remote access. IOS 14 forced “Private Networks” by default, which broke remote connections. This feature can be turned of via the device settings, and the remote URL can the be reset in the App Config settings. Except on my iPad.
It is an iPad 5th gen running IOS 14.0.1 with no pending updates. I’m running HA Companion version 2020.6.2 using about 6.1mb of data memory. My phone uses the same version of the software but consumes 54.1mb of data memory. This is the only difference I see between the working devices and the iPad.
Anyone with similar experience? Or suggestions? Thanks.
There is a bug where when “Allow Multiple Apps” is disabled the configuration will not launch. You can temporarily work around this by enabling that setting in system Settings > Home Screen & Dock > Multitasking. This should be resolved in 2020.7.
@zacwest Thank you. Your response was spot on and fixed my issue. Sorry it took so long to reply, but I was so happy it was working again I forgot to thank you for a working resolution.
