i had an app installed that announced incoming text messages.
but i cant find it back at this moment.
and when i use the word announced i remembered the name.
on my tablet it did work very well, but i only had in the same room as my rpi and so it became a little redundant.
you can itegrate this directly in HA there is an HA component for it.
I use chromecast to play audio to android devices… you just need to download and install a chromecast receiver to the android device and then HA will discover it on the network as a media player… I use this one:
Pay once and then you can install it on any android device assocaited to your google account…
This is also a super cheap way of deliver multiroom audio if you have a coupl of old sets of speakers you can connect to hte device… you can setup groups etc in google home and then these groups will also become availalbe in HA via the local network…
@uiguy, i just installed castreceiver on my phone, and HA alreaready discovered it… now how can play song on my phone throught HA?
i need install more any app?
I currently don’t use this feature, so I am sory, but I wont be able to help here, however if you look through the docs here you should get the answer.
I simply use this for TTS Notifications…
On the side though, if you install Google Home on your android you can group cast receive players together to create multi-room functionality. This “Group” in Google home will also appear as 1 additional media player in HA… so you an then create multiple combinations within HA…
