Appears that HA Blue device does not like sinilink smart USB adapter?

Anyone have any ideas why my Sinilink smart USB’s (flashed with ESPhome) keep becoming unavailable when connected to my HA blue device; and thus killing my zigbee or zwave networks because the hubs are attached to them.
For troubleshooting heres what I did.

  1. Plugged sinilink into my personal PC. Had RSSI of -45 dBm. Let it sit for 6 hours. Had zero issues. See two pictures below.

  2. Moved sinilink and plugged it into my HA blue device on a USB extension WITHOUT anything else connected to it. Had RSSI of -60 dBm. Let it sit overnight, had over 20 occurances of ‘unavailable’. See two pictures below.

  3. I connected my Zwave hub to the sinilink so that my Zwave network was operational which meant the sinilink was allowing pass thru. I disconnected my wifi router completely. While this did cause the device to show as unavailable, it did NOT make the device kill the pass-thru to the hub; I could still command Zwave devices. If I let it sit like this long enough, the pass through would be momentarily killed but it was not because of loss of wifi.

  4. I have tried this test, albeit in shorter duration with all 3 of my sinilink units, with the same results.

What I think my tests have proved:
• It is not a sinilink specific issue, or it would have happened when plugged into my personal PC.
• It is not a zwave/zigbee/wyze hub CAUSING the issue, as the issue also occurs without any hubs being plugged into the sinilink
• It is not a loss of wifi causing the sinilink to disable its pass thru feature. See point 3.
• It is not the ESPHome yaml or else it should happen when plugged into my personal PC.
• It is not a signal issue. Yes it is stronger when connected to my personal PC, but a google shows -65dBm is still perfectly acceptable.

To me it seems to be something specific happening when the sinilink and my HA blue device are paired. Anyone have any thoughts?

Perhaps related to the USB3 issue described here?

Appears his issue was a complete wipe and he had to redo his config. I don’t have that issue. It still works, just becomes unavailable.

I can’t imagine I got 3 bad units. And everytime I get the unavailable log, I do not ALWAYS lose my zigbee/zwave network. I’ve always video’ed the unit so I can see the red light on the unit that signifies it’s allowing data pass thru.

When I had an unavailable entry in my log, looking back at the video, I didn’t see the red light go out.

So just very weird overall.

But I know it’s causing network issues sometimes because previous to using the , I’d never lose my zigbee/zwave network. After I started using them, I’d get an alert that network is done at least 1x a day.

I switched to an old Lenovo mini PC. Havent had issue since on any of my 3 sinilinks. I believe it was something with the Blue/Odroid hardware.

I do have occasional entries in my logs where it says the device became unavailable. But I never lose the network, be it Zwave, Zigbee or Wyze. Which, as my tests above confirmed just mean the sinilink has lost communicaton to HA temporarily, but it still kept the data path open for the hubs to transfer data to HA device.
