Apple TV and Apple Homepod Mini

Hello,
I have both an Apple TV and an Apple Homepod Mini.
I am facing an issue where only the Apple Homepod Mini is being added to HomeAssistant. Even if HA detects Apple TV, does the pairing with the code and everything, Apple TV does not show in HA. Only the Apple Homepod Mini.

Is this the expected behavior ?

Thanks !

Yes, it is expected behavior for only the HomePod Mini to be added to Home Assistant when both an Apple TV and HomePod Mini are present on the same network.

This is because Home Assistant only supports integration with the HomePod Mini, and does not support integration with the Apple TV.

The Apple TV and HomePod Mini use different protocols and APIs for communication, so it is not possible to integrate the Apple TV with Home Assistant using the same integration that is used for the HomePod Mini.

However, you can still control the Apple TV using other methods, such as the Apple TV Remote app on your phone or using Siri on the HomePod Mini.

Hello @bastero,
Thank you for your answer !
Thing is, Apple TV integration was working just fine before I add an Apple Homepod Mini to my network. Since then, nothing.
I agree with you regarding on how to control it but my main interest was getting attributes from the Apple TV (like the application running) to base some automations.

This also happens with the HomePod Gen2,

I mean it is not possible to have both simultaneously Apple TV and HomePod?

Did you fix this. I have Apple TV also integrated and was thinking to buy the home but the gen2

I have both the ATVs and Homepod mini’s running via the AppleTV integration. For me the key was to have them all on the HA network but that presents some other issues for iOS controllability as iphones and ipads are on the user network. I need to revisit my setup at some point.
