I’d be really interested to see a TvOS app for HomeAssistant! It would be really nice to access my dash on my TV and control things as well. I have no experience in Swift so idk where to start but if someone would make one I could beta test it!
As Apple doesn’t really help us with a (HomeKit) overview page I was busy designing a LoveLace view for all my devices (iPhone; small and basic, iPad; extensive and informative) but I noticed there wasn’t an Apple TV app.
How great would it be if the upper bar from Home Assistant was visable as the tabbar and you can easily select a view to load your LoveLace panels…!?
This is a great feature ask, I am puzzled why there is not much more response to this request. A lot of people trying to get notifications pop-up on Apple TV. The current IOS app can be ported to support at least to bring notifications.
does the OS load webpages? how does remote control based navigation work with the HA frontend? For Android TV we removed the app from the store as the HA frontend is not designed for remote control based navigation. It created a poor user experience in that alone.
It would be interesting to see if the notifications portion of the companion app could be stubbed out into a TVos port. That would honestly be perfect for my use cases. They would have to be actionable at all, just a simple popup notification.
