Knowing the apple_tv integration stopped working some while ago, please let me ask how it can be possible that 1 of my 4 ATv’s keeps popping up as media_player, with a working remote… on the apple_tv integration.
The others are seen by my network scanner as device_trackers alright, but they dont show a media_player, nor the remotes with which they are paired.
this is what I see, and no matter if I delete them (from the .storage files) they keep coming back…
please have a look?
It only works with Apple TV 3 or earlier. Or if you didn’t upgrade to tvOS 13. If you want it working again, you need the beta component (until it is merged into home Assistant).
Ok thanks! Didn’t realize it had to do with the tvOS version.
Do we have a timeframe for the merger?
They dropped support for the legacy protocols in tvOS 13 when they got rid of iTunes. No idea about time frame. The PR has been up for a long time now but someone needs to take a look at it. That’s what more or less decides how long it will take.
