AppleTV integration

Hello everyone,

I was searching for an answer here in the forum but I was not able to find something to solve my issue.
Currently I"m having issues with my Apple TV integration.

It was working fine until today I updated my home assistant OS to version 10.1, home assistant version 2023.5.0 and supervisor 2023.04.01

After the updated the appletv application was not loaded. I tried it manually but still not loading.
When I tried to add again the this message came up “Config flow could not be loaded: 500 Internal Server Error Server got itself in trouble”

The error log is the following:
Logger: homeassistant.setup
Source: setup.py:206
First occurred: 19:55:48 (1 occurrences)
Last logged: 19:55:48

Setup failed for custom integration apple_tv: Requirements for apple_tv not found: [‘pyatv==0.9.3’].

I"m really not got into configuration and the internet search did not helped.

I thank you guy a lot in advanced
Thanks
Augusto

Most likely you are using HACS Apple TV beta integration. if so, disconfigure it (remove from configuration.yaml) delete it from HACS and use official Apple TV integration instead.

Hi thank you for answering,

I checked my configration.yaml and there is nothing related to appleTV, on hacs I searched for the old configuration again nothing there…

On the pages integration I deleted the configuration to install it again and got the same error Config flow could not be loaded: 500 Internal Server Error Server got itself in trouble”,

Now I have others configurations not loaded as well, for example the googlecast, eufysecurity local(here I have on hacs).

Any other suggestions?
Thanks
Augusto

Hi augusto it won’t help you but just to let you know - I have exactly the same problem. Also since the update to 2023.5.0 my Apple TV integration doesn’t work anymore.
I am also NOT using the HACS Apple TV add-on.

I have rolled back to 2023.4.6 and it works again. Will wait with any updates until this is fixed.

Same issue, but I am using the HACS beta version. I guess I will wait and see, since the official integration has the same problem

Hi Yop1403 and mbrunton,

Thanks for sharing, I just solved the issue with the most simple solution.
I tried restart the home assistant a few times to see if the problem would go away but it persisted there.

I deleted the appleTV integration, and than rebooted the host machine of home assistant. And after the new start up, my appletv was found in the integration tab, I just added it again it is all working.

Not sure what happened but I thank all for sharing and assisting on this process.

I’m experiencing the same issue with the HACS Apple TV integration. I tried removing the integration and deleting the folders under the custom_components folder, then rebooted the system. After this, Apple TV Integration still shows up in notifications. And the integration was added successfully.

Thank you!

Is the Apple TV official integration broken? I’m on HA 2023.11.2 and Apple TVs with TVOS 16 and 17 both are neither auto detected in integrations nor manually add-able by their friendly name or IP address, I get the message “No devices found on the network”. The ios remote app can control them just fine.

Mine works as they should. One on 17.1 and one on 16.4.

Just tried with another installation of HA and it turns up just fine on that. Anything else I should try on the install that doesnt work? Its a regular HA docker container install.

Are they in the same subnet?

Yup. Just started up another HA install on the exact same lan cable as the first and it works. The other install simply doesnt. Can detect TVs, AVRs all fine but no apple tv. All is the same.

Anything in the logs? I’m assuming you have tried deleting the integration from HA and installing it again.

There is no integration at all since it just doesnt detect any instance of Apple TV. So no question of deleting it. Dont know how to check the logs/ which part.

Ah, so you never had it working, I see. You have restarted the Apple TVs as well? Logs you can find under settings → system → logs. See if you can find any clues there. I would also compare the config of the HA that works against the HA that does not work.

In case it can help others, I had a similar issue and solved it by removing those files :
/custom_components/apple_TV/

Restarted HA then the Apple TV integration was discovered by itself.
